The first track on Kate Bush's first LP (the kick inside) begins and ends with some of the whale song from this album!

Are these files copyrighted or not? If they are public domain then can these be used for sampling in music?

recently watching david attenborough mentioning this album as the first time one heard the whales songs.
I myself remembered the flimsy disc that came ... with a national geographic issue, way back in the 70's.
It was impressive just can't describe the way that felt to hear these large whales sing!
Listening to this record the same impression, something from another world yet it is to be found (still) on our own planet's oceans.
May they outlive us humans, which will only happen if everyone, and I mean literally everyone, stops hunting these magnificent beings.
Many thanks for uploading this album!

I remember when this album came out in the early 1970's. Although not shown in the notes above, it was produced by Roger Payne who should be remembered.
...
I will add that there is an Electric Light Orchestra song, from their album, "Out of the Blue", which features some of the whale-song from THIS album incorporated into the song.
Everyone should share the majesty of these wonderful animals before they are gone from Earth. Remember "Star Trek IV - The Voyage Home" and its warnings.
